Testimonials
I have had an excellent experience with Dr. Suhail Marfani during my recent visit to the Prime Medical Center in Al Qasmiya, Sharjah. Dr. Suhail has a wonderful manner and is always kind and genuinely invested in his patients’ care. He was very thorough in his exam and took his time to learn about my personal diabetic issues and family history. He was able to explain my test and my physical examination results in a clear way to help me understand the next steps in treatment, and is always open to any questions to ensure his patients know exactly what to expect during a procedure, etc. I am thoroughly pleased to be one of his patients and would recommend him to anyone needing an endocrinologist. He is a spectacular doctor!

Which Type of Diabetes Do You Have?
Type One versus Type Two Diabetes.
Not all diabetes is the same. While many people are diagnosed with diabetes based on blood sugar levels, determining the exact type of diabetes is equally important because treatment may differ significantly.
Two important blood tests that can help identify the type of diabetes are:
- Insulin Level
- C-Peptide Level
These tests provide information about how much insulin your body is producing. Low levels may suggest Type 1 Diabetes or severe insulin deficiency, while normal or high levels may be seen in Type 2 Diabetes or insulin resistance.
Correctly identifying the type of diabetes can help healthcare providers choose the most appropriate treatment and avoid unnecessary delays in achieving good blood sugar control.
If there is uncertainty about your diabetes type, discuss with your doctor whether Insulin and C-Peptide testing may be appropriate for you.
